I purchased my 1970 Plymouth GTX in 1977 from the original owner as a trade-in on a 1977 Dodge Ramcharger 4X4. I've owned my GTX for sentimental reasons, my father was the original salesperson. Options include, A01 light package, B41 disc brakes, B51 power brakes, C16 console, C92 floor mats, D34 torqueflite transmission, D91 sure grip, E86 440 8 cyl 4 bbl, F11 alternator-60 amp, G11 tinted glass all windows, G31 and G33 outside mirrors, H31 defogger rear window, J21 electric clock, J45 hood hold down pins, J55 undercoating, M31 molding belt line, M83 rear bumper guards, R22 radio-solid state AM w/stereo tape, R31 rear seat speaker, S77 power steering, S81 sport steering wheel sim woodgrain, V1W vinyl roof - Pearlescent White, V68 stripe delete, W23 chrome styled road wheels, Y14 sold car, T86 tire-f70X14 2/4PF. Exterior color, TX9, black. Retail Price: $4,445.25 + 89.00 shipping. MSRP: 4,534.25

My Plymouth GTX was ordered by George W. while doing a tour of duty in Vietnam. George ordered the GTX, timing the delivery to my relatives dealership with his discharge from the army. The first day George saw his new '70 GTX was the day he was to take delivery. After walking around his GTX, he decided deleting the tape stripes was a mistake. George ordered white tape stripes, paid for his GTX, leaving his GTX at my father's dealership until the tape stripes were applied. George preferred Dodge's "440 Magnum", so the "440 Magnum" pie tin was ordered, and the original pie discarded. In 1977, premium gasoline was no longer available, then, owning a farm, a 4X4 made more sense. My father sold George a 4X4 Ramcharger, and I purchased his GTX from my father. In 1977, my GTX had 36,000 + miles, the summer of 2009, the miles now read 41,000+ miles.
