1971 Plymouth GTX -
440 4V Super Commando - Track Pack 4 spd 3.54 Dana - High Impact
"Curious Yellow" - This car is a real stunner: A Curious Yellow Trak
Pak car. The original buyer obviously had one thing in mind when
ordering it: GOING FAST... and blinding people in the process. It is
a relatively low option car with manual steering and manual drum
brakes. No power-robbing or weight-adding features were checked on
the order form. This car was built to go fast, and do it in a
not-so-subtle manner. Somewhere along the way, some dress-up items
were added, including front and rear spoilers and chrome exhaust
tips.
This is an "international" sales order vehicle. Typically, these
cars were ordered by a military servicemen stationed overseas and
delivered stateside. After purchasing the in July of 2007, I spent a
lot of time and money making it "right". It has gone from being not
much more than a lawn ornament, to a very solid street machine. The
motor has been completely rebuilt. It sports 9.3:1 compression with
forged pistons, H-beam rods, ported 452 casting heads with 2.14/1.81
valves, a Comp Cams XE274H cam, Edelbrock CH4B intake and Holley 770
carb. Fast, streetable and reliable.
